About Data Wrapped

Data Wrapped turns your Google Takeout export into a short Wrapped about your own data, worked out in your browser.

Who it’s for

Anyone who has wondered how much is stored in their Google Account and wants to see it in a form they can read in a few minutes. Start with what to pick in Takeout, then open the Wrapped on the home page.

Who makes it

Data Wrapped is made by Secria, which makes Secria Mail and Secria VPN. Secria sells an email service that competes with Gmail, so we have a stake in this topic. The Wrapped’s last slide is about Secria Mail, and it says Secria Mail is ours. Making a Wrapped doesn’t create an account, and your file is never sent to us. Data Wrapped is not made by or connected to Google. It uses the export Google provides, through Google Takeout.

How the tool is designed

You choose your Takeout files, and a worker in your browser tab reads them and hands back counts. Every page on this site is served with a security policy that stops its scripts from loading anything through fetch, WebSocket and similar interfaces. On 29 October 2026 we checked against the tool’s code which files and fields it reads, what it skips and what leaves the worker, and ran its tests on a made-up export. How it works has the details and three ways to check for yourself.

How we check

Every step and limit about Takeout comes from Google’s own help center, privacy policy and developer documentation, read on the date shown on the page. A second pass re-opens every source from scratch and compares each sentence with it. Takeout’s screens change, so we re-check the steps every month.
